📅 Tuesday, March 19th
⏰16:00 – 18:00 CET
📍Room 6Q1 European Parliament (Brussels)
This meeting is organised by FEANTSA in collaboration with Mr. Stelios Kympouropoulos, Member of the European Parliament, European People’s Party, New Democracy (Greece). The objective of this meeting is to spotlight the CANCERLESS project, highlight its research findings over the past three years and discuss the key policy recommendations for the EU Commission and other relevant stakeholders for inclusion in health care and social justice across Europe. In addition, this meeting will lay the groundwork for continued work on the development of comprehensive policy recommendations for the European Union and engagement with CANCERLESS consortium members, as well as political, legislative and other stakeholders. The aim is to discuss synergies to address disparities in cancer care, especially in relation to people experiencing marginalisation, such as people Experiencing Homelessness.
The meeting will be a unique opportunity to highlight the core of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, focusing on its Equity pillar in relevance with CANCERLESS project and Europe’s vision of “Cancer Free Europe”. By emphasising the rights-based approach to social and health care justice for people experiencing marginalisation, we will also spotlight first-hand evidence-based information on unique barriers in health/cancer care, and to delineate the needs to address these barriers.
